6AM we arrive in San Cristobel to yet another lonely planet recommendation - its hideous so we leave and find a barely OK place around the corner. Please note the Lees do not like budget accomodation.
We explore San Cristobel (barely awake and needing to keep moving) its a lovely colonial town , very middle class, really clean and welcoming. It is our favourite Mexican town. Loads of travellers even manage to strike up a conversation with a kiwi bloke from Taranaki.
So much walking around sure stirs up an appetite, so head to a busy Italian tapas and vino joint. We order a bottle of chilean Cabernet Savignon (gorgeous) and bonus we get a plate of appetisers for free. The waiter has never seen his appetizers disappear so quickly.
Still hungry (surprise, surprise) We head to a Spanish steakhouse, too tired to decipher the menu, we go for the "all you can eat" option. This is basically eat as much rump, sirloin, t-bone as you can. You keep eating the steaks, they grill them and keep them coming. You also get as much salad as you can - bonus. We both manage only two rounds of steaks and call time. We are exhausted and head to bed in our shitty 2 x 4 with a mega soft bed.
Caught ya! As the bed is too soft Ade camps out in his second favourite place .....
