Last day at Zihua - back at the hostel we have a new arrival - Englishman Ian. Early 40´s, out of work actor, vegan, tee total and allergic to soap powder - we were defo going to hit it off.
Anyway, we are barely out of the introductions stage, when he proceeds to indulge us with an entire hour of his exploits. Ian cycled from Vancouver to Mexico and will continue through central America this way (interesting maybe - riverting definitely not!)
Ian detects we are trying to get away so in an attempt to woo us exclaims "Did I tell you about the time I canoed the congo........????" NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
The only interesting (but equally smelly) companion we have is Troy, the hostel owners dog (pic below). Its worth a mention that Mexico to this point has been very quiet on the old traveller front . We are keen to meet interesting travellers and share stories but as yet have not had the opportunity.
We leave Zihua and head to Mexico City - in transit as we need to get to a city called Puebla.
11pm: 8 hour bus journey to Mexico city on the "Diamante", the most luxiourious and comfortable bus you can imagine. We even get a goodie bag!
We sleep all the way to Mexico City.
